The 22-year-old – yet to make an appearance for the Blues – was shipped out to the Dutch side at the beginning of the season.
And a truly calamitous own goal against Groningen yesterday will do him no favours in trying to impress Antonio Conte.
With his side 1-0 up in the second half, Dabo picked up the ball inside his own half.
He was immediately put under pressure from an opponent so decided to fire the ball back to his goalkeeper.
But he severely overhit the pass and could only watch in horror as the ball sailed over the keeper’s head into the back of the net.
The accidental equaliser proved a turning point in the match, as Groningen went on to win 4-2 in the Eredivisie clash.
And fans were quick to criticise the youngster.
“That’s got to be the best own goal all season,” one commented.
Another added: “That takes some skill.”
And a third added: “Don’t see him coming back to Chelsea anytime soon.”
