Chelsea eye Jack Butland as a long term replacement for Thibaut Courtois
He will have just a year left on his deal at the end of the season and Chelsea may be forced to cash in or risk losing him for nothing.
And according to the Daily Mail they are already planning ahead with England's Butland in their sights.
The 24-year-old was wanted by Chelsea while he was at Birmingham in 2013 but opted for the Potteries for a better chance at first team football.
He has since established himself to be one of the top keepers in the Premier League and ha ambitions to play in Europe's most prestigiou club competition, the Champions League.
The Belgium keeper has a contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2019
Stoke won't let him leave on the cheap and will only need to look at Everton's £30million signing of Jordan Pickford to know they can drive a hard bargain.
Butland, who is sidelined with a broken finger, will consider himself ahead of Pickford in the national team and hopes to pip Joe Hart to the No1 jersey at the World Cup.
