Tiemoue Bakayoko has taken to social media to praise N’Golo Kante for his performance after Chelsea warmed up for their Premier League clash with Liverpool with a 4-0 win against Qarabag in the Champions League.
Kante played 75 minutes of the group stage clash in Baku as Antonio Conte’s men secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a comfortable victory.
Bakayoko was an unused substitute as Conte opted to rest the French midfielder in the lead-up to their crunch clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
Kante and Bakayoko will both be hoping to start in midfield for Chelsea when they take on the Reds on Merseyside on Saturday evening.
And Bakayoko was clearly delighted to see the Blues take all three points as he watched from the sidelines on Wednesday night.
The midfielder posted a picture of himself with Kante and Antonio Rudiger on his personal Instagram account after the game and wrote the caption: “Well done guys!”.
Liverpool head into Saturday’s game on the back of their disappointing 3-3 draw against Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night after having led 3-0 at half-time.
The Reds are currently three points behind Chelsea and know that a win would move them level with Conte’s side after 13 games.
