Antonio Conte has admitted that he would love to see Chelsea complete a move to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal this month.
The 29-year-old’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months after both he and Mesut Ozil entered into the final few weeks of their contracts at The Emirates.
Arsenal could be set to try and cash-in on Sanchez this month rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer window.
Chelsea were linked with a move for Sanchez in the summer and the Chile international is thought to be attracting interest from a number of top Premier League clubs this month as well.
And Conte has hinted that he would like to see Chelsea make a move to sign Sanchez this month as they speculation about the forward’s future rumbles on.
Speaking at his news conference at Chelsea’s Cobham training base on Friday, Conte said: “I think it is a good investment.
“We are talking about a top player and you can buy him for a price not so high. The amount is around £20m. Maybe a normal price for Alexis Sanchez is €80-90m. This is my opinion.”
Chelsea are currently preparing for their FA Cup third-round replay clash against Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
The Blues head into the game on the back of their goalless draw with the Canaries in the first leg at Carrow Road last weekend.
