Chelsea want to make Brazilian their first January signing in £50m deal – report

Chelsea are hoping to push through a deal to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus in a £50m transfer this month, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are keen to bring the 26-year- old Brazilian full-back to Stamford Bridge in January after having been heavily linked with a move to sign him last summer.

The same report claims that Chelsea “know” that they face competition from Manchester United for Sandro’s signature and are therefore keen to push ahead with a move to sign him as quickly as possible.

The story says that Juventus are “ready” to do business and sell Sandro this month despite having battled to keep him back in August.

Sandro has been in decent form for Juventus so far this season, with the Brazilian having scored one goal and made three assists in 12 Serie A games for the Italian club.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to conclude a deal for Sandro this month but the Blues were one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer window as they brought in six new players.

The Blues are currently preparing for their FA Cup third-round clash against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
