Fresh Rumours About Antonio Conte’s Chelsea Future As PSG Begin To Circle

The 48-year-old Italian is in his second year of his contract with the London club and following a romp to the Premier League title last term, this season has seen persistent rumours of managerial unrest and disagreements with club owner Roman Abramovich.

A slow start to the season has seen the defending champions fall some nine points behind a rampant Manchester City and questions continue to be posed about the future of the former Juventus star.

Now, according to French newspaper, Le Parisien, PSG bosses are eyeing Conte as a potential replacement for current manager Unai Emery.

The Spaniard has been charge of the cash-rich club since last year, following three years in charge of Seville. He has been under pressure, however, since failing to guide his side to Ligue 1 honours and now it appears that he is at risk of being jettisoned at the end of the season.

According to the French media outlet, bosses at the club have apparently set Emery the target of making the semi- finals of the Champions League. Failure to do so could see the club choosing not to renew his contract, which is due to expire in the summer.

It has been reported that PSG has already gone so far as to contact Conte’s entourage about a potential move to Paris, however, when directly asked by the newspaper, club officials denied any such contact, instead insisting that finding a coach is not a hot topic.

Time will tell if there is any truth to the rumour but should Emery guide PSG into the last four or even last two of the European competition, any talk of the Chelsea boss crossing the English Channel could remain just that.
