Antonio Conte reveals his Chelsea January transfer window plans

Antonio Conte has admitted that the January transfer window could end up being “important” for Chelsea.

The Blues are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the mid-season window presents the Blues with a chance to bolster their squad half-way through the season.

Chelsea have been in decent form this season but like most teams in the Premier League, they have been unable to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table.

The west London side were one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as they signed six new players but Conte will surely be keen to add to his squad.

And the Chelsea boss has hinted that the Blues will try and complete a number of deals if the right players become available.

Speaking at a news conference at Cobham on Friday, Conte said: “I think this window could be important if we are able to find the right players, otherwise we continue to work with these players and I’m very happy to work with them.

“For sure, the club will try to do their best in the market to improve the squad from a numerical aspect.

“I’m a coach, I have to work with my players and my task is on the pitch. The transfer market is for the club and they must decide if they want to improve my squad.

” Chelsea return to Premier League action on Wednesday when the travel to Arsenal in their first game of 2018.

The west London side won the title last season but were beaten by Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.

Chelsea have won the title in two of the last three seasons.
