Antonio Conte orders Chelsea board to make three January signings – report

Antonio Conte has demanded that Chelsea make three signings in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Times, as quoted by the Metro, is reporting that the defending Premier League champions are in the market to add more numbers to Conte’s squad.

The same article states Conte has ordered the Blues board to bring in three new players in the January transfer window.

While Chelsea are closing in on the £15m signing of Everton playmaker Ross Barkley, Conte wants to make three more signings before the window comes to a close.

According to the same story, the Chelsea boss wants to sign a new centre-half, a new left-back and a striker.

The defending Premier League champions missed out on Brazilian full-back Alex Sandro in the summer despite Chelsea’s numerous attempts to sign the Juventus star.

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has been linked with a potential exit in January as the Belgium international looks to secure regular first-team football ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

The Blues are in third place in the Premier League table and a point behind Manchester United in second spot.

Chelsea will take on La Liga leaders Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 next month.
