AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri has agreed to join Chelsea on a four-year contract, according to The Evening Standard’s Simon Johnson.
Antonio Conte looks to have finally secured another left-wing back to provide competition for Spaniard Marcos Alonso.
The Italian wing-back has reportedly agreed to sign a four-year deal with the West London club.
Done deal?

The 23-year-old will cost the Blues a fee of £20m – good value considering Juventus’ Alex Sandro’s £60m price tag.
The fee is yet to be fully-agreed however, as Chelsea are trying to negotiate a double deal involving Edin Dzeko also arriving in London.
The player will sign a four-year deal worth around £42,000-a-week and is due in London to undergo a medical before completing the transfer.
Back from injury
Palmeri has made just two appearances for Roma this season, having spent the majority of the campaign injured.
He returned in the Serie A against SPAL making a 15 minutes cameo, going on to complete a full 90 minutes against Torino in the Coppa Italia.
The player will need time to fully get back into things, which shouldn’t be an issue given the form of Alonso this season. Alonso has had a fine season at Chelsea, scoring six goals in 31 appearances for Conte’s side.
Kenedy to Newcastle
This deal will see Kenedy head to Newcastle, a player who Conte doesn’t appear to rate given the Brazilian has made just five appearances for the Blues all season.A big indication that Palmieri to #cfc is a done deal. Kenedy is set to (or has already started) travel to #nufc and is expected to complete loan for rest of season tomorrow. Chelsea were only going to let him go there if they signed a replacement first.— Simon Johnson (@sjstandardsport) January 22, 2018
Newcastle are expected to finalise the move and hope to make an announcement tomorrow.
